Outrageous Internet, Phone, and Cable Bills…and the Solution!

If you are looking for ways to cut your internet, phone, and cable bills, look no further. I have a real solution that works. It will involve a few new pieces of equipment, but I assure you, it will be well worth it. Are you paying over $100 per month on just internet and phone service for your house or apartment? That can be remedied. Are you paying over $200 per month on internet, phone, and cable service (the so-called “bundle” package)? That can be remedied too. It doesn’t have to be this way! If you follow my advice on this page, you can cut those monthly bills by more than half! Are you ready? Good, let’s get started!

Step #1: You’re Going to Need a Smartphone and the Right Phone Plan

If you have an older smartphone laying around the house, that’s great! Don’t recycle or donate it just yet! You can repurpose it for this little project here. Also, if a friend or loved one is thinking about getting a new phone, ask them what they plan to do with their old one. If they’re not going to trade it in, ask them if they’d be willing to sell/give it to you. However, if you don’t have a second smartphone readily available, you can purchase one at a pretty decent price these days. Because you’ll be using the smartphone primarily for its mobile hotspot capabilities, you don’t need the latest and greatest smartphone; you don’t need one with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. An entry level model will do just fine. Now having said that, you might want to consider purchasing a 5G smartphone instead of a 4G LTE smartphone. This is because the upload and download speeds of a mobile hotspot on a 5G smartphone will be significantly faster than that of a 4G LTE smartphone. However, the phone I use at my house is a 4G LTE Motorola Moto G Pure smartphone (a very basic, budget friendly smartphone) and my internet speed is just fine. I can have multiple family members streaming YouTube TV all at the same time with no buffering. Also, each service provider can limit mobile hotspot internet speeds so that plays a factor as well but more on that later.

Just about any smartphone will work. It can be an iPhone or an Android phone. If it’s an Android, it doesn’t matter what company makes it. It can be Samsung, Motorola, Google, or any other Android phone manufacturer. What’s important here is the fact that it has mobile hotspot capabilities, and you know how to access that function in the phone.
